As you’ve no doubt heard over the last couple of days, the long awaited Glock single stack pistol is here. It’s marginally larger than the .380 Glock 42 (sorry, 42 holsters will not fit a 43) with 6 +1 magazine capacity (at least until someone makes an add-on to increase that) and is imminently suitable for concealed carry.

As I pulled up to my house I realized my dog was outside and my door was open. I didn’t think too much of it at first I just thought I didn’t shut the door well enough and it came open. As I walked to my front door I was on alert thinking something might not be right. As I turned to the door two men stood in my doorway one holding the Glock 19 I just left in my house on my table that I decided I didn’t need.

Chicago police are reporting that the murder rate for the first quarter of the year is the lowest it’s been in more than 50 years, which gun advocates are attributing to a concealed carry law passed in Illinois last year.

“I’ll only be out for a few minutes.”

“I’ll only be out for a few minutes.” That’s what I said when I exited the house and jumped in the truck and realized that my firearm was still sitting on top of my office desk. Sadly, this wasn’t the first time I have said this, but this day would prove to be the last time I ever use that line as an excuse to not be armed . . .
